MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) received on Monday 75 brand new Yamaha NMAX motorcycles donated by the Quezon City government to improve the capability of the police in patrolling villages in the city.
The motorcycles were turned over to the QCPD headquarters in Camp Karingal during the weekly flag-raising ceremony.
QCPD director Brig. Gen. Joselito Esquivel Jr. told INQUIRER.net that each motorcycle is estimated to be worth around P120,000.
“These additional law enforcement resources will further improve the logistical capabilities of the local police force in patrolling the communities and ensuring that the peace and order are maintained in their respective area of responsibility,” said Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, who was also present in the event.
The new motorcycles will be distributed to different offices and units at the QCPD headquarters, especially to the District Traffic Enforcement Unit.
Bautista said more equipment for the QCPD are ready for bidding to further strengthen the capability of the local police in anti-criminality operations.
Esquivel, meanwhile, thanked the local government for supporting the QCPD.
In 2018, the city government turned over to the district police 1,250 Taurus Cal. 40 Model PT840 semi-automatic pistols, three Montero SUVs, 25 brand new Toyota Vios patrol cars and 100 Galil assault rifles, the QCPD said.
