Drug suspect slain in Nueva Ecija gunfight with cops

QUEZON, Nueva Ecija—A drug suspect was killed after engaging policemen in a gunfight during a buy-bust operation here on Sunday, police said.

Investigators said Yamar Yangson, resident of Barangay San Juan ACCFA in Cabanatuan City, fired his .38- caliber revolver at anti-narcotics operatives after sensing he was selling “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police agent in Barangay San Andres 1 at around 2:40 a.m.

Police fired back, killing Yangson on the spot.

Recovered from the suspect were undetermined amount of shabu and his gun, police said.
