Court orders confinement of Ivler for colostomy reversal surgery

/ 05:16 PM December 16, 2011

MANILA, Philippines—A Quezon City court has ordered the confinement of road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler to a government hospital in preparation for a major abdominal surgery to reverse his colostomy.

Judge Luisito Cortez of Regional Trial Court Branch 84 issued the directive transferring the accused to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center on Friday morning.

Ivler is expected to be brought to the hospital Saturday in preparation for the colostomy reversal surgery, which will allow him to defecate normally. The surgery is scheduled for Monday.

Ivler is facing murder charges for allegedly shooting Renato Victor Ebarle Jr., son and namesake of a former Malacañang official, in a road incident in Quezon City in November 2009.
