Best-designed campus paper contest launched by Laguna startup

MANILA, Philippines — Heads up, campus journos and advisers!

Laguna-based events management startup company Aloha PH is looking for the best-designed school publication in the Philippines through its first-ever Best-Designed Campus Paper (BDCP) Awards.

As the first and only award-giving body for campus paper design, the BDCP awards target to recognize outstanding school papers nationwide in terms of layout and design.

The inaugural BDCP awards also aim to craft a “pool of information” on how to design campus papers all over the country.

FEATURED STORIES

The contest is open for all school publications from elementary, secondary and tertiary levels in the country, published in English or Filipino. The deadline for nominations is on June 3.

Interested applicants must submit a signed entry form together with the required documents and the PDF file of the school paper to [email protected]. Applicants are required to pay the registration fee of P550. The newspaper should be covered by the school year 2018-2019.

Renowned and award-winning journalists, layout artists, newspaper specialists, and art and creative directors from different media outfits will screen and judge the entries.

Accepted nominations will also be divided into three categories based on the region where they come from (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao); from these, the top 10 finalists and the Best-Designed Campus Paper of the Philippines will be adjudged per level.

Each of the 10 finalists will receive a Medallion of Creative Excellence while the Best-Designed Campus Paper of the Philippines Awardees will be presented with a BDCP Seal of Creative and Visual Excellence, a plaque, and P10,000.

Winning publications will be featured in the maiden issue of the BDCP Magazine which will be distributed on the awarding ceremony in December.
