MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted near Roxas City, Capiz Friday afternoon and may bring cloudy skies and with intermittent rainshowers and thunderstorms to the Visayas, the state weather bureau said.
In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was spotted 60 kilometers east southeast of Roxas City.
Raymond Ordinario, Pagasa weather specialist, said the LPA will not intensify into a cyclone.
“Ito ay shallow low pressure area. Hindi magiging bagyo. Posibleng matunaw na sa susunod na bente kwatro oras,” he said in a 4 p.m. Pagasa live weather advisory.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will likewise prevail in Metro Manila, the Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Bicol regions due to the southwesterly surface wind flow. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
