PPCRV receives up to 65% of election returns after 8 days of operations

MANILA, Philippines — The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Wednesday said they had received 65 percent of the election returns nationwide which will be used to verify the results of the polls.

PPCRV Executive Director Maria Isabel Buenaobra said that they had received election returns from 55,808 of the  85,769 clustered precincts nationwide as of 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

This equated to 65.07 percent of the clustered precincts in the country.

“[On Tuesday], we have received election returns from Mindoro, Dumaguete, General Santos, Ozamis City, Bayombong in Nueva Viscaya, Basilan, Kalinga, Apayao, Ermita, Misamis Occidental, and Marinduque,” Buenaobra told INQUIRER.net at the PPCRV command center in Paco, Manila.

“Election returns from Davao arrived today,” she added.

Meanwhile, Buenaobra said the match rate remains high at 99.99 percent.

Meanwhile, PPCRV board member Dr. Arwin Serrano said they will continue encoding the election returns despite the Commission of Election’s (Comelec) closure of the transparency server following the proclamation of the winning senatorial bets on Wednesday morning.

The PPCRV manually encodes physical copies of election returns and compares them with electronic results from the transparency server in order to verify poll results.

“We will still continue our validation counting here. In fact, maganda rin na tinitingnan pa rin in terms of coming out with the truth kung ano talaga ang naging resulta ng ating halalan,” Serrano told INQUIRER.net.
