MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officially closed the transparency server Wednesday morning, an official from the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) said.
PPCRV board member Dr. Arwin Serrano confirmed this to INQUIRER.net following an exit conference attended by IT representatives from the PPCRV, the dominant majority party, the dominant minority party, the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), and different media outlets.
The operation of the transparency server was closed as the Comelec proclaimed the winners of the senatorial and party-list races.
“[The conference was held] to formally close the operations at the transparency server since na tapos na ang canvassing sa National Board of Canvassers sa PICC and right now pino-proclaim na ang winning 12 senators and later on yung party-list congressmen,” Serrano said.
The transparency server – which sends data to the PPCRV, political parties, and media outlets – received results from vote counting machines (VCMs) from different clustered precincts.
The other two recipients of the data are the National Board of Canvassers and the Comelec central server.
Serrano said the transparency server received results from more than 99 percent of the clustered precincts in the country.
“After these particular elections, there will be improvements and adjustments sa ating mga susunod na partnership. It will be more transparent and more credible,” Serrano said. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
