Pia Cayetano: Dishonesty claims vs Imee Marcos must be resolved
MANILA, Philippines — Presumptive Senator Pia Cayetano believes that the questions raised over the educational background of another incoming senator, Imee Marcos, must be resolved, and dealt with sincerely and candidly.
Cateyano and Marcos both ran under Hugpong ng Pagbabago in the just concluded May 13 elections. The two are also part of the Nacionalista Party (NP)
Marcos had been widely criticized during her election campaign when she claimed that she graduated from Princeton University.
While she did enroll in 1973, Princeton reportedly said Marcos did not earn a degree from the university.

“So I do feel that that issue should be resolved and dealt with candidly and not brush aside,” Cayetano added.
Asked if she had discussed this issue with Marcos while they were campaigning together, Cayetano answered no.
“I mean, that’s for her to… di ba? But if you ask me, I will answer candidly as I have…how I feel about it,” she said.
Cayetano was at 4th spot in the partial and official counting of the Commission on Elections while Marcos ranked 8th.
Cayetano and Marcos will join their two other partymates in the Senate— Senator Cynthia Villar, who topped the senatorial race, and Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
