MANILA, Philippines — Two mild quakes hit Mindanao early morning Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
At 3:12 a.m., a 4.0-magnitude quake hit 25 kilometers (km) southeast of Remedios Romualdez in Agusan Del Norte, Phivolcs said in a bulletin.
An Instrumental Intensity I was registered over Gingoog City.
Phivolcs said the quake was tectonic in origin and 13 km deep.
Later, at 5:14 a.m., Surigao del Sur was also hit by a similar magnitude 4.0 quake.
Phivolcs said it hit 14 kilometers (km) northwest of Cortes and had a depth of 14 km.
The quake was tectonic in origin.
Phivolcs said no earthquake or damage could be expected from both earthquakes. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
