Mandaue PUJs, trikes to take new routes starting Sunday
The Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team) will be conducting a dry run for the new route of public utility jeepneys (PUJs) and tricycles in Mandaue City this Sunday in time for the opening of the new Mandaue City Public Market.
Team Director Maj. Edwin Ermac earlier proposed to the City Council a 30-day dry run for the rerouting of PUJs and tricycles that will bring passengers to the new market located at the back of Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Center at the North Reclamation Area.
Earmac said that if the dry run, which was approved by the council, will be successful, a city ordinance will be drafted.
It would then be the basis of a permanent traffic route leading to the newly opened public market in barangay Centro, he said.
The new traffic scheme will direct all PUJs from Cebu City bound for Ouano and Ibabao passing A. Del Rosario Street to take a right turn to B.Ceniza Street. They will then have a right turn to A. Soriano Avenue. They would then then take a U-turn at the U-turn slot in corner W.O. Seno Street and A. Soriano Avenue then right heading to the new public market.
The PUJs will exit the market taking P. Burgos Street, then right turn to C. Ouano Street and proceed on their destinations.
