MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Masbate on Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its initial bulletin, Phivolcs reported the temblor hit eight kilometers (km) southeast of Pio V. Corpus, Masbate at 6:45 a.m.
The quake of tectonic origin had a depth of one km. It was felt at Intensity I in Masbate and Legazpi City.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks or damage could be expected from the earthquake. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
