MPD: Part of Roxas Boulevard to be closed for ’Songkrun Run4UrLife’

MANILA, Philippines — Part of Roxas Boulevard will be closed to traffic to make way for the “Songkrun Run4UrLife” festival on Sunday, the Manila Police District-Traffic Enforcement Unit (MPD-TEU) said.

In an advisory on Saturday, MPD-TEU said the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo in Manila will be closed from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

MPD traffic officials also advised motorists to avoid the affected area and follow its traffic rerouting scheme:

1) All vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. should turn left to P. Burgos Ave. to point of destination.

2) All vehicles coming from three bridges (Jones, McArthur, Quezon) intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., should go straight to Taft Ave., to point of destination.

3) All vehicles traveling westbound lane of P. Burgos Ave., should turn right to Bonifacio Drive or make a U-turn to the eastbound lane of P. Burgos Ave., to point of destination.

4) All vehicles traveling westbound lane of TM Kalaw St., going to Roxas Blvd., should turn left to MH del Pilar St., to point of destination.

5) All vehicles traveling westbound lane of U.N Ave., going to Roxas Blvd., should turn left to MH del Pilar St., or use Roxas Blvd. service road to point of destination.

6) All vehicles traveling westbound lane of Pres. Quirino Ave., intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., should turn left to Adriatico St. to point of destination.

7) All vehicles traveling westbound lane of P Ocampo St., intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., should turn left to F B Harrison to point of destination.

8) All vehicles going to and from Manila Ocean Park/H20 Hotel and Manila Hotel should use Katigbak Drive as access road. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
