CITY OF CALAPAN — A 4.6-hectare waterpark owned by businessman Jolly Ting opened to the public Saturday in this city.

The park offers recreational facilities like a wave pool, running river, giant water slides, bike and body zip lines, cottages, function rooms and cabanas, the company’s press release said.

Calapan mayor Arnan Panaligan, during the waterpark’s blessing ceremony Friday, said it is a boost not only to Calapan’s tourism but to Oriental Mindoro province as well.

The park is added to Oriental Mindoro’s tourist destinations, which include Puerto Galera and Bulalacao, the southernmost town in the province. (EditorLeti Z. Boniol)
