Lacson is new Negros Occidental governor

BACOLOD CITY — Eugenio Jose Lacson was proclaimed governor of Negros Occidental Friday, May 17, at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.

Lacson (NPC) got 827,657 votes while his opponent, Rolando Parpa, had 45,412 votes.

Also proclaimed vice governor was Jeffrey Ferrer who ran unopposed. He garnered 680,832 votes.

Other declared winners were Gerardo Valmayor of the province’s first district, Leo Rafael Cueva of the second district, Francisco Benitez of the third district, Juliet Marie Ferrer of the fourth district, Ma. Lourdes Arroyo Lesaca of the fifth district, and Genaro “Lim-ao” Alvarez of the sixth district. (EditorLeti Z. Boniol)
