Comelec urges uploader of ‘pre-shaded ballots’ video to cooperate in probe
MANILA, Philippines — A Commission on Elections (Comelec) official urged the uploader of the viral “pre-shaded ballots” video in Lanao del Sur to cooperate with the poll body for investigation purposes.
“We are asking the one who posted the video to communicate with us and provide more details kasi yung video pa lang ay kulang na po yun for us to start an investigation,” Comelec Dir. Frances Arabe said on Friday in an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990 AM.
“At the most, we can only ask yung province mismo, pero wala na kaming iba pang information kung saang school ba yan, anong presinto kasi walang mga mukha,” she added.
Arabe was referring to the viral video that circulated on Facebook, showing a person who appeared to be shading the ballots that were used in the elections in Lanao del Sur.
Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez earlier said that the poll body is now investigating the viral video as he urged the uploader to file a complaint to authorities. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
