BOTOLAN, Zambales — Local environment officials assured the public that the oil dispersed by a foreign dredging vessel in a portion of the shoreline here was immediately contained.

Clean-up operations ended on Wednesday after the oil leak was contained at Barangay Bangan here, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Raymond Rivera said.

Rivera said the leak was discovered on May 8 from a dredger registered in the Republic of Tanzania.
