MANILA, Philippines — A 47-year-old man was wounded after two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot him in Quezon City Wednesday evening.

Initial investigation showed that Melvin Castillo was walking to his sports utility vehicle when one of the two men pulled out a pistol and shot him along Ipo Street, Barangay Salvacion.

After the assailants fled, barangay officials rushed the Castillo to Chinese General Hospital in Manila for treatment.

Lt. Col. Camlon Nasdoman, station commander of the La Loma police, told INQUIRER.net that the victim sustained six gunshot wounds.

The La Loma police are conducting a follow-up operation to identify and apprehend the attackers. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
