MANILA, Philippines — Mar Roxas and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV were the only Otso Diretso senatorial candidates who emerged as the top choice of Capiz voters.
According to partial and unofficial tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting as of Tuesday, among the eight opposisiton hopefuls, only Roxas and Aquino made it in the “Magic 12” in Capiz. The rest were administration bet led by Cynthia Villar.
Roxas garnered the top spot, having 190,481 votes. Meanwhile, Aquino placed fourth with 141, 380 votes.
Villar was behind Roxas with 177,568 votes.
The top 12 senatorial candidates in Capiz:
Grace Poe came in third with 156,305 votes. Placing fifth behind Aquino is Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., with 128,661 votes.
Other candidates who made the cut are Lito Lapid (6th place, 127,772 votes); Christopher “Bong” Go (7th place,125,679 votes); Pia Cayetano (8th place,122,839 votes); Sonny Angara (9th place, 116,69 votes); Nancy Binay (10th place, 106,587 votes); Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa ( 11th place, 105,278 votes); Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III (12th place, 85, 317 votes).
Humans rights’ lawyer Chel Diokno ranked 18th, followed by fellow “Otso” bets Gary Alejano (19th) and Samira Gutoc (20th).
Erin Tañada took the 22nd spot, while veteran election lawyer Romy Macalintal placed 24th.
Florin “Pilo” Hilbay got the lowest vote among “Otso Diretso” hopefuls. He ranked 28th.
