3 kids suffocate inside car in Bataan

ORION, Bataan — Three children suffocated inside a car that had been parked for four hours on May 13 in Barangay Calungusan, a belated police report said.

Cousins Agatha Morales, 9, Shamel Alghela Morales, 8, and Pauline Keziah Morales, 6, were last seen playing near the vehicle of Jessie Morales, a 31-year-old safety officer of the Petron Bataan Refinery.

Jessie is the father of one of the slain children but the police did not say which one.

He parked his car at 4 p.m. at Eskinita Street and found the children inside the vehicle when he returned at 8 p.m.

Jessie rushed them to the St. Michael Hospital in Orion, where the attending physician declared the children dead on arrival.

Investigators said the car doors could be opened from the outside but the children were apparently unable to open them from the inside. (EditorLeti Boniol)
