MANILA, Philippines — Reelectionist Senator Koko Pimentel failed to get the top spot for the senatorial race in the election held in his hometown of Cagayan de Oro, ranking only fourth place based on the unofficial and partial results of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) tally.
A PPCRV update on Wednesday afternoon recorded that Pimentel, running under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), gained 146,182 votes while reelectionist Senator Cynthia Villar beat him by 16,776, garnering 162,958 votes.
Meanwhile, Pimentel’s party-mate, former Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go topped the senatorial race in Cagayan de Oro with 170,237 votes.
