LIPA CITY, Philippines — A village chief was arrested for firing his gun in Balete town in Batangas on Tuesday morning, police said.
Capt. Rhyan Lasi, Balete police chief, identified the suspect as Leodegario Roxas, 44, chairman of Barangay Sampalocan.
Investigation showed that the police responded to a phone call from a concerned citizen who reported that Roxas was firing his pistol outside his residence. He was arrested at around 10:30 a.m.
Recovered from the suspect were a caliber .45 pistol, one magazine with two live bullets, a black holster, and a sling bag. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
