In a press conference at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) where the canvassing of votes is being held, Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas noted that the tally being shown to poll watchdogs, including the media, through the transparency server is only partial and unofficial.
“Yung basis doon sa partial and unofficial [tally of votes] is the transparency [server]. Ang official natin is ‘yung canvassing natin ngayon. Doon tayo magca-canvass, tingnan ninyo nang mabuti because that will be the official result (The basis for the partial and unofficial tally of votes is the transparency server. The official tally will come from our canvassing now. Monitor it closely because that will be the official result),” Abas said moments before the session resumed.
“I-ma-match natin ‘yun sa bawat provincial, bawat city, ladderized ‘yan and that will be the official thing. Gagawin pa lang natin yan (We will match it with the data from provinces and cities. That’s ladderized and will be the official thing. We are just about to do it now),” Abas added.
“Ang source ng unofficial [tally] is the transparency [server], ang source ng official is ‘yung ladderized canvassing (The source of the unofficial tally is the transparency server, while the source of the official tally is the ladderized canvassing).” (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
