MANILA, Philippines — The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) hopes to receive all transmissions of electronic election returns (ERs) nationwide within Tuesday, PPCRV chair Myla Villanueva said.
“That’s the hope that we should be able to receive, but let me remind everyone, again and again, thank you for our volunteers, PPCRV’s job has now started,” Villanueva said as the PPCRV also begun its manual encoding of printed ERs.
Villanueva said the Catholic Church-backed poll watchdog already received 5 percent of the physical ERs, most of which comes from the National Capital Region, particularly from Manila, Makati and some areas of Pasay and San Juan cities.
After validating, the volunteers would encode the ERs so the PPCRV could “compare” and check if the printed ERs would match those electronically transmitted through the transparency server.
The PPCRV official also assured that the ERs were sealed and delivered by authorized PPCRV coordinators.
As of 10:26 a.m., the PPCRV already received the ERs of 82, 808 out of 85, 769 or 96.5 percent of clustered precincts nationwide. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
