Berna Puyat says victory of Vico Sotto, Roman Romulo ‘best birthday gift’
MANILA, Philippines — For Department of Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, Councilor Vico Sotto and her brother former Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo’s victory is the “best birthday gift.”
Puyat congratulated Sotto and Romulo on Monday night in an Instagram post.
“BEST birthday gift ever. Congratulations to the new mayor of Pasig @vicosotto and to my brother, Cong. @roman_romulo. Thank you Pasig,” Puyat wrote.
The post was accompanied by photos of Puyat together with Sotto and his parents Coney Reyes and Vic Sotto, and Romulo with his wife Shalani Soledad.
Puyat also congratulated Reyes in an Instagram story captioned: “Congratulations to the mom of the new mayor of Pasig @coneyreyes!!!”
Based on the latest tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), Sotto has garnered 204,118 while his opponent incumbent mayor Robert “Bobby” Eusebio has 118,281.
Romulo, meanwhile, has 219,468 votes compared to his opponent Ricky Eusebio who has 95,958. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
