Cayetanos poised to keep a grip of Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — The Cayetanos are poised to keep a grip of Taguig as they lead the poll race in their respective bids.

Former Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and his wife incumbent Taguig mayor Lani Cayetano are leading the city’s congressional race.

Results from the latest tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) showed that Alan Peter received 76,047 votes, leading the congressional race as Taguig’s first district representative.

Trailing behind Alan Peter is Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Allan Cerafica with 44,468 votes.

Alan Peter’s wife Lani, gunning for Taguig’s second district representative, also leads her own race as she received 108,554 votes.

PDP-Laban’s Che Che Gonzales also trails behind Lani with 40,301 votes.

Alan Peter’s brother Lino Cayetano likewise takes the lead in the Taguig city mayoralty race with 166,580 votes.

Arnel Cerafica, also from PDP-Laban, is behind Lino with 105,427 votes.

Meanwhile, Alan Peter’s sister, incumbent Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, is top 4 in the senatorial race with 18,949,242 votes, as of this posting.
