MANILA, Philippines — Senatorial candidate Cynthia Villar received more votes than Nancy Binay in Makati City where the Binays are expected to dominate.
In the latest results released by the Makati City Board of Canvassers at 9:10 p.m., Villar received 196,883 votes in the city compared to Binay’s 194,977 votes — placing them first and second in the senatorial race in the city.
Other senatorial candidates that performed well in the city include Grace Poe (176,286 votes), Pia Cayetano (157,213 votes), Sonny Angara (156,636 votes).
In the national level, Villar remains in the lead with 93,660 votes, according to Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV)-Inquirer Transparency Server’s partial and unofficial results.
Villar is followed by Poe (83,258 votes), Bong Go (73,786 votes), Cayetano (72,105 votes), Bato Dela Rosa (67,102 votes), and Angara (65,916 votes).
