Former VP Binay trailing in Makati congressional race
MANILA, Philippines – Liberal Party (LP) candidate Romulo “Kid” Peña is leading the Makati City first district congressional race over former vice president Jejomar C. Binay.
Based on partial results released by the Makati City Board of Canvassers Monday evening, Peña got 68,114 votes while Binay was slightly behind with 62,754 votes.
Independent candidates John Mesina and Ferdie Sevilla followed with 1,177 and 706 votes, respectively.
The Board of Canvassers said the votes came from 196 of 235 clustered precincts. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
