MANILA, Philippines – Senatorial candidate Atty. Glenn Chong appeared on Monday before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) sitting as the National Board of Canvassers at the PICC and personally complain of electoral irregularities.
In a chance interview, Chong,a former Biliran congressman, said his camp interviewed two voters, one in his home province, who said that his vote for Chong was not reflected in the voting receipt.
“Meron na kaming dalawa na… ininterview namin ‘yung botante, ‘yung isa ang binoto niya si Mar Roxas at ako, [pero] ako, wala [sa resibo]. Si Mar Roxas lang ang nandoon. Wala ako sa resibo (We were able to interview two voters. One of them voted for me and Mar Roxas, but my name was not in the receipt. Only Mar Roxas’ was),” he rued.
Chong said his camp also received similar reports in other parts of the country.
In some cases, Chong said those who voted for him saw the names instead of other Senate hopefuls in the receipt.
He said that he is set to submit a formal complaint on Tuesday.
