MANILA, Philippines — Manila mayoral candidate Isko Moreno, whose real name is Francisco Domagoso, has urged some quarters who may be planning to manipulate the election in Manila to just respect the people’s vote.
In an interview after emerging from his precinct in Tondo, Moreno said: “Hangad naman natin na magkaroon ng mapayapa, panatag at maayos na halalan ngayong araw na ito.”
“Sana ‘yung mga ilang indibidwal na nag-iisip pa ng ibang bagay, ‘eh wag n’yo nang gawin dahil, you know, bigyan natin ng galang at respeto ‘yung boto ng tao,” he added.
Moreno was up against incumbent Mayor Joseph Estrada and former Mayor Alfredo Lim.
Despite citing overwhelming support from Manila residents during his campaign, Moreno said he remains anxious until all votes are counted and winners are proclaimed.
“I don’t want to assume anything, let’s just wait for the day kung ano ang magiging resulta ng halalan,” he said. (Editor: Katherine G. Adraneda)
