Mayor’s secretary finds grenade in front of house in Isabela town

MALLIG, ISABELA — An unpinned hand grenade, which did not explode, was found hanging at the gate of the house of the mayor’s secretary in San Jose Norte 2 here on election day.

Diosdado Granado, 57, private secretary of the town mayor and a resident of Barangay San Jose Norte 2 here, immediately alerted the police after discovering the grenade about 5:45 a.m.

The place was cordoned off and bomb experts from the 5th Infantry Division were sent to the site to retrieve the hand grenade.
