MANILA, Philippines — San Juan City mayoral candidate Francis Zamora and reelectionist San Juan Congressman Ronaldo Zamora cast their votes at Xavier School in San Juan City on Monday.

The Zamoras arrived at the school at 7:50 a.m. alongside their family members.

“Ang tagal naming hinintay ‘to. Tatlong taon naming hinintay na magkaroon ng halalan muli,” Francis, the younger Zamora, said during a chance interview with reporters after he cast his ballot.

“Sa araw na ito ako’y natutuwa sapagkat ang San Juan po ay makakapiling muli. Umaasa po kami, ang San Juan po, pipiliin ang pagbabago,” he added.

Francis also shared he stayed up all night to monitor the happenings prior to the election.

“Mula kagabi ako hindi na ako natulog e. Minomonitor namin ‘yung bawat barangay kung merong mga movement, kung merong mga unusual activities,” Francis said

“Patuloy kaming magbabantay. Kaya ako bumoto nang maaga para makapagbantay na rin throughout the day and make sure na maging malinis at patas ang halalang ito,” he added.

Francis is up against Janella Estrada for the mayoral seat, while Ronaldo is up against actor Edu Manzano for the congressional seat.
