NTC orders uninterrupted telecom services on election day
MANILA, Philippines — The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has called for uninterrupted telecommunications services during the 2019 midterm elections on Monday.
In a memorandum order effective May 6 signed by NTC commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba, the commission ordered all public telecommunications companies in the country to ensure that they are prepared for the expected influx of usage of their services amid the national elections.
The NTC also ordered that the Commission of Elections (Comelec) be given priority in providing services.
The commission also ordered that necessary maintenance and adjustments to ensure that services have been conducted by telecommunications companies prior to election day.
The NTC added that operations and maintenance personnel are also deployed in case problems in network availability arise.
The memorandum order was also signed by NTC deputy commissioners Edgardo Cabarios and Delilah Deles.
