May 15: Pahiyas Festival
Originally known as the Feast of San Isidro, Pahiyas Festival at Lucban in Quezon province features houses adorned with colorful “kiping,” rice-based decoration shaped like chandeliers, and farm produce to give thanks for a bountiful harvest.
Activities include a procession, wherein images of San Isidro are carried, and an agricultural fair showcasing ornamental plants, handicrafts and delicacies.
May 12 to 18: Mayohan sa Tayabas
The city of Tayabas pays homage to San Isidro Labrador and celebrates the culture and agricultural heritage of Quezon province.
Activities include a “musikahan,” dance concert, carabao race and agri-trade fair.
May 13 to 15: Feast of San Isidro Labrador
An annual religious festival in honor of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers, in Tudela, Misamis Occidental province. A procession, Mass and sports events will be held during the festival.
