Deaths in election-related violence rise to 17 -- PNP

MANILA, Philippines — Deaths recorded under cases of election-related violence nationwide have climbed to 17 from the initial 14 deaths, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Saturday.

The PNP also found that of the 40 cases of election-related violence, 22 individuals were wounded and 30 were unharmed.

Of the said 40 cases, 25 of which were due to shooting.

The PNP also recorded that there are six threats, two mauling incidents, one slapping incident, one strafing case, one assault, one stabbing incident, one harassment, one illegal discharge of firearm and one violation of election code.
