MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested a candidate running for mayor of Rosario, Agusan del Sur, for illegal possession of guns and bullets on Saturday morning.
Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested Jupiter Abulog in Barangay Santa Cruz, Rosario, after they reportedly seized various types of firearms and ammunition from him.
The arrest came after Judge Lou Nueva of Branch 7 of the 10th Judicial Region in Bayugan City issued a search warrant against Abulog. The warrant was dated May 9, 2019.
Seized from the suspect were the following:
one Cal. 45 PARAO pistol with SN P240325;
one Cal. 45 RUGER pistol with SN 664-93729;
one Cal. 40 ARMSCOR pistol with SN 1187466;
one unit Cal.45 NORINCO pistol with SN BA01121;
one unit M16 MAGPUL Rifle without SN;
28 pieces of 5.56 live ammunition
14 cal. 40 live ammunition
103 cal. 45 live ammunition
13 cal. 45 magazine
one cal. 40 magazine
one M16 magazine
two Cal. 45 MEDALLION pistol with SN RIA 1708315 and
RIA1708316;
one Cal. 45 TAC ULTRA with SN RIA 2021885;
109 cal. 45 live ammos; and
one cal. 45 magazine
