Red Cross to deploy 150 ambulances, 2,000 staffers for polls
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) will deploy 150 ambulances and 2,000 staffers nationwide to ensure the safety of voters on election day.
In a statement Friday, PRC said it will establish 310 first aid stations, 158 welfare desks in strategic areas of the country.
PRC Chairman Richard Gordon said that to ensure the security of voters, they will also be putting up emergency vehicles and first aid stations in schools and other local chapters.
“We want to make sure that each and every citizen of the Philippines is safe and sound while exercising his/her right to vote. To secure their well-being, we will put up first aid stations, welfare desks, emergency vehicles and mobile units (roving teams) in schools and local chapters duty during the election day,” Gordon said in a statement.
