Gabriela on Duterte’s flirting with Bohol mayor: ‘no wonder cockroach likes him’
MANILA, Philippines — Gabriela partylist denounced on Friday the “dirty talk” and public flirting of President Rodrigo Duterte with Garcia-Hernandez Mayor Tita Baja-Gallantes during a campaign sortie in Bohol on Wednesday.
Gabriela Reps. Arlene Brosas and Emmi de Jesus said the women’s party “strongly condemns this sick and disgusting display of machismo, infidelity, and ethical bankruptcy.”
“No wonder the cockroach cozied itself with the President in Bohol, as he yet again spewed putrid material,” they added.
“Talagang dumadapo ang ipis sa basurang bulok, at malinaw na kasama sa dinadapuan nito ay ang yung may bastos at basurang bunganga gaya ng sa Pangulo.”
The Gabriela representatives added that Duterte’s allies who never bat an eye every time the President “degrades, humiliates, and sexualizes women do not deserve election to public office.”
During his speech, the Chief Executive who gained notoriety for being foul-mouthed told Baja-Gallantes in Cebuano: “[Y]ou are truly beautiful. If it were me, why would I ever break up with you? I will really grab and hold on to your panty if you try to leave, even until the garter snaps.”
Duterte also asked the mayor to “run away” with him.
“Actually I’m not trying to pull your leg. But the truth is ang balita ko if I may allow to say it in public and it will not offend you, you and your husband are separated,” he added.

During the same speech, a cockroach landed and crawled on Duterte’s sleeves as he was praising his senatorial candidates, particularly Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos. /muf
