MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday assured the security of the public on Mothers’ Day as crowds are expected to spend the day in malls, amusement parks, restaurants, and other places of entertainment.
Mothers’ Day will be marked on Sunday, a day before voters troop to poll precincts for the midterm elections on Monday.
“One day before the midterm election, the public can [rest] assure[d] that with the full effort of NCRPO to ensure the safety of each and every resident of Metro Manila, we will have a peaceful celebration of the day entitled for the best person in our lives,” Eleazar said in a statement.
Eleazar added that police officers will also be deployed in strategic areas to immediately provide assistance.
Meanwhile, Eleazar reminds the public to be wary of criminals who may take advantage as they celebrate Mother’s Day.
“Report these suspicious people immediately to your nearest policeman or station,” he said.
Eleazar said the NCRPO “acknowledges the roles and sacrifices of all the mothers out there.”
