MANILA, Philippines – Six persons were rescued after their boat stalled off the coast of Aklan, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Thursday.
PCG said the passengers fetched a relative in Carabao Island in San Jose, Romblon when their vessel encountered an engine problem while on their way back to Sibolo Island in Caluya, Antique last Wednesday.
The Coast Guard Sub-Station Boracay Deployable Response Group (DRG) was deployed to rescue the passengers after receiving a report from Barangay Kagawad Lopez Manongol regarding the incident.
The rescued passengers, who are all residents of Sibolo Island, were identified as Ivan Magcalay, 32; Evelyn Domingo, 27; Jerry Vicente, 23; Victor Domingo, 22 and two minors. /gsg
