MANILA, Philippines — The water level in Angat and Ipo dams dipped Thursday morning despite the rainshowers that hit parts of Luzon on Wednesday night.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the water level in the two dams was recorded at 174.78 meters and 100.97 meters,
respectively, as of 6:00 a.m.
Pagasa said the water level in Angat Dam was lower by 0.36 meters while in Ipo Dam it was lower by 0.05 meters compared to the recorded level on Wednesday morning.
The water level in both dams remained below its normal high water level, the state weather bureau said.
The water level also dipped in Binga Dam, Ambuklao Dam, and San Roque Dam. But water level in the La Mesa Dam increased by 0.10 meters from 68.45 meters on Wednesday morning to 68.55 meters on Thursday morning.
Despite this, the water level remained below La Mesa Dam’s average high water level of 80.15 meters.
Pagasa said water level also slightly increased in Pantabangan Dam, Magat Dam, and Caliraya Dam.
Rainshowers hit parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Batangas, Bataan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Quezon, and Cavite on Wednesday. /ee
