MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake jolted a municipality in Batangas on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded at 12 kilometers southwest of Calatagan, Batangas, and is of tectonic origin.
Phivolcs said the temblor struck at 11:39 a.m., and had a depth of 131 kilometers.
No aftershocks or damages were expected, Phivolcs added. /muf
