MANILA, Philippines — Peter Joemel Advincula who claims to be “Bikoy,” has been selling false information to different agencies about drug links, the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde bared on Wednesday.

“Before he gives information, ilang beses na siya nakahingi ng medyo large amount of money and it turned out lahat ng sinabi niya ay false,” Albayalde said in a press briefing on seized firearms at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The PNP chief, however, declined to reveal the name of these agencies.

Albayalde then cited that in 2016, Advincula told authorities about the location of an existing drug laboratory in Bicol but when law enforcers went to verify, they discovered a resort.

“Way back in 2016, based on our monitoring and profiling, nandun pa siya sa prison na siya ay involved sa isang sindikato at meron siyang alam na malaking laboratoryo sa Bicol. it so happen nung vinerify namin yung sinasabi niya laboratoryo ay isang resort pala. This is how he lies,” Albayalde said.

Albayalde previously revealed that Advincula served his sentence in a jail in Marikina City but committed his illegal activities in Bicol.

But Advincula said he was in jail for six years in 2012 and said he was released in 2016 for good behavior. He said the crime for which he was jailed was estafa involving documents he signed at VitaPlus where he claimed he was a former marketing executive.

Albayalde also said Advincula asked cash worth P50,000 to P70,000 from agencies in exchange for information.

“In the rates of fifty to seventy thousand, marunong manguha ng pera ito [Advincula] merong mga ganito minsan forty thousand,” he said. /cbb
