MANILA, Philippines — The number coding scheme for provincial buses will be suspended on Friday and Tuesday to accommodate voters traveling to and from the provinces for the May 13 elections, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
“Coding for provincial buses will be lifted on Friday May 10 and Tuesday May 14 for commuters who are going to vote in the provinces,” MMDA Edsa traffic head Bong Nebrija told reporters in a Viber message.
He added that the lifting of the number coding scheme would cover Makati since buses “pass through major thoroughfares.”
Meanwhile, the MMDA said the number coding scheme for all vehicles – both public and private – is automatically lifted on the weekends, May 11 and 12, and on election day itself on Monday, May 13. /cbb
