Based on the latest data of the Department of Health, Metro Manila posted the highest number of new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases among all regions in February 2019.
Of the 1,013 new HIV cases reported nationwide during that month, 32 percent or 328 were from the National Capital Region, followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces) with 17 percent or 171 cases. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
