MANILA, Philippines – One passenger died while 14 others were injured when a commuter van figured in an accident Tuesday morning at the northbound lane of North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) near Lawang Bato exit, police said.
The Valenzuela City police identified the lone fatality as Rolan Denovo, 31.
The injured were brought to the Valenzuela Medical Center.
Initial investigation showed that the driver of a commuter van lost control of the vehicle after its rear right tire burst.
The van rammed the expressway’s steel railings and turned upside down. /gsg
