A major gadgets brand opened their first outlet in the Visayas in SM City Cebu yesterday in a bid to solidify its retail presence in the region.
HTC country manager Mark Dewey Sergio said they want to expand their presence in regions outside of Cebu.
“We’ve been in the smart phone business ever since and we have been on top. In fact, we are already number one in the US (United States) since third quarter of this year in terms of smartphones,” Sergio said.
Part of their strategy to strengthen their brand in the country is offering affordable phones.
“As of now, we are already offering a phone only P10,990 and we think that’s already very affordable,” he said.
Sergio said they rank second in terms of smartphone shipments in the country. HTC has a total of six stores nationwide, four in Luzon, one in Davao and one in Cebu.
He said they are looking at adding five to seven branches next year. Reporter Aileen Garcia-Yap
