MANILA, Philippines  – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) lifted on Monday the yellow alert on the Luzon Grid.

In an advisory posted on its official Twitter account, NGCP said it lifted the yellow alert for the Luzon Grid at 2:30 p.m. “due to low system demand.”

The NGCP raised the yellow alert last April 30.

According to Department of Energy (DOE), a yellow warning alert is usually raised when “a grid’s reserve power — the difference between supply and demand — is below the required level.”

A yellow alert will not lead to power outages, the DOE pointed out. /gsg
