3 alleged drug pushers nabbed in Lucena buy-busts

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested three suspected drug pushers in two separate buy-bust operations here shortly before midnight Friday, police said.

Deogracias Sical, 57, and his wife Jovita, 53, were collared by anti-illegal drugs operatives after the couple sold “shabu” (crystal meth) to a police agent in a transaction in Barangay (village) Mayao Crossing at 11:25 p.m., Lt. Col. Reydante Ariza, Lucena police chief, said in a report Saturday.

Authorities seized eight sachets of shabu weighing 4.48 grams worth P24,864 in the street market.

Police tagged the couple as the favorite suppliers of shabu among the village’s drug users, who address Jovita as “Mama.”

Earlier at 11:10 p.m., the police also busted Regelyn Heleg, 32, in another drug sting in the coastal village of Dalahican.

The suspect yielded five sachets of shabu weighing 1.94 grams worth P10,600 in the street market.

Heleg was identified as one of the remaining drug pushers in the area who sells shabu to tricycle drivers, fishermen, dock workers, and out of school youth.
