MANILA, Philippines—A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Rizal, Occidental Mindoro on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The temblor’s epicenter was recorded at 7 kilometers southwest of Rizal, and was of tectonic origin.
Phivolcs added that the quake struck at 9:05 a.m. on Saturday, with a depth of 12 kilometers.
Residents are warned to expect aftershocks, Phivolcs added. /muf
