OSG prods 2018 Bar Exam passers: Heed call of public service, join us
MANILA, Philippines — With the impending release of the 2018 Bar exam result Friday, the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) has invited passers to heed the call of public service and join its ranks.
According to OSG, it has invited the “brightest lawyers” to work in the agency, which, it noted, is the “finest training ground” for members of the legal profession.
“Since 2016, Bar topnotchers joined the OSG in droves,” OSG said in a statement.
“We encourage bar passers to heed the call of public service and join the OSG in its pursuit of social justice as the Defender of the Republic and Tribune of the People,” it added.
As for those who were not able to make it, OSG advised them to not lose faith.
“Courage lies not in the number of times we fall, but in every fall, we rise up from the ashes ready to fight anew,” it said.
Bar exam takers and their supporters converge near the front yard of the Supreme Court (SC) along Padre Faura Street, Ermita in Manila, awaiting the announcement by SC Associate Justice Mariano del Castillo.
The list of Bar passers will be shown on an LED TV wall set up outside the SC building.
A total of 8,155 examinees took the Bar examination held in November 2018 at the University of Santo Tomas. /kga
